Required in the Living Well Broxtowe Community Team you will be expected to provide professional occupational therapy supervision and leadership of staff and work in partnership with managers, staff and others to deliver an effective and efficient Occupational Therapy service. You will have a small, specialist caseload and be responsible for both the occupational therapy assessment of individual needs and the initiation and coordination of a range of outcomes to meet them, promoting the principles of choice and control, personalisation and self-directed support to ensure that service users can assess and manage their own occupational performance needs, risks and uncertainties. You will be a lead practitioner for Occupational Therapy in your team and will be expected to provide professional support and advice to Occupational Therapists and CCO OTs. There will also be expectation that you take the lead for the CPD of the occupational therapy staff in your team.

Applicants must hold a recognised Occupational Therapy qualification recognised by the health and care professional council (HCPC) and be registered with the HCPC. At least 2 years’ experience is required working as a Band B Occupational Therapist and experience of managing complex occupational therapy casework. You will need to be an Approved Adult Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) or Approved Mental Capacity Professional (AMCP) Best Interests Assessor (BIA) or Practice Educator (Level 2) or have evidence of relevant post graduate study.

In return for your commitment we will provide regular supervision, access to professional development opportunities and support to develop as a lead practitioner and to contribute to the operational and strategic development work of the department.
