Role Dimensions

The Mill Adventure Base is a small, well respected, and growing provider of outdoor and environmental education activities on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council. Our team is vibrant, inclusive, and passionate about the outdoors. 

The post holder will be a key part of the team delivering outdoor education programmes, supporting the day to day running of the centre and striving for quality. The core focus of the post will be leading, developing, and growing our Approved Activity Provider DofE operations, to achieve this the right candidate will be given high levels of autonomy allowing them to shape our offer into the future.

You will be fun, willing to try new things and not afraid of taking measured risks.

 Requirements 

  • Extensive experience of working in the outdoor and adventurous activity sector
  • Experience of delivering Duke of Edinburgh Award expeditions
  • Ability to design activity programmes – appropriate activities, staff allocations, equipment management and compliance requirements
  • Hold current and valid national governing body awards in a range of outdoor and adventurous activities or willing to achieve them (mountain walking, rock climbing, paddle sports, mountain biking, caving)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills – including Microsoft 365
  • Current UK Driving Licence with D1+E - Desirable
