Nottinghamshire’s Leaving Care Service have a new and exciting role of an Achievement Adviser Coordinator.

The purpose of this role is to help develop and then manage the operational running of a team of Achievement Advisers who co-work with young people who are looked after or Care Leavers aged 16 – 24 years old to promote their access to education or training provision tailored to their needs, raise their aspiration and enhance their employability potential. 

This role requires management and strategic development skills.

Two key aspects are that you will: 1) encourage co-production of employment, education and training (EET) opportunities for young people who are 16 – 24 years with local businesses and educational establishments including the Virtual School; and 2) ensure that the Achievement Adviser team is supporting looked after young people and young adults leaving care under the guidance of the Nottinghamshire Local Offer into pathways that allow them to either retain or regain EET status

In order to undertake this role, you will need a Full UK driving licence; a DBS check; be educated to NVQ Level 3, including GCSE or equivalent Maths or English. A qualification in education, employability and training guidance would be desirable. Knowledge of legislation and the ongoing national conversation around provision of education, employment and training for Care Leavers; and Experience of working with external agencies and businesses to build better outcomes for young people or young adults. The Leaving Care service is countywide with team members based in Ollerton, Mansfield and Sir John Robinson Way, Arnold, and therefore the base can be negotiable.
