The staff, governors and children of Worksop Priory C of E Primary Academy are looking for a dynamic teacher to become our Head of Early Years and Key Stage 1. We are seeking a candidate who is able to meet the essential criteria listed in the Person Specification, but in particular someone who:

  • Is an outstanding teacher in either Early Years or KS1
  • Has experience of leading a phase, team or core subject
  • Has a strong knowledge of statutory assessment in either Early Years or KS1
  • Has experience of developing others through coaching, mentoring, observation and feedback and modelling 
  • Has experience of monitoring and evaluating approaches, standards and development areas to show impact.
  • Has experience of presenting reports, articulating impact and defining areas of development to Governors and other external parties
  • Demonstrates a very high standard of written and spoken English
  • Has a clear understanding of how data can be used to inform whole school initiatives, including for vulnerable groups of children
  • Understands the needs of the children and families of the Academy
  • Understands the importance of the learning environments, both indoors and outdoors, and what outstanding examples look like
  • Is sympathetic to the visions and aims conducive to working in a church school

The children are seeking a candidate who can:

  • Make lessons fun, exciting and challenging
  • Teach lots of lessons away from the normal classroom environment
  • Be kind and caring
  • Create and support extra-curricular activities within a rich and varied wider school life
