The following opportunity has arisen due to the current post holder shortly about to commence maternity leave.

A qualified and experienced social worker with at least three years post-qualifying experience in a statutory role, or be able to demonstrate the level of skill required to work at that level, is being sought for a secondment into this role which will focus solely on historical abuse allegations. You will be based at County Hall and work closely with the Historical Abuse Team, and Risk and Insurance colleagues who deal with civil claims.  Regular supervision and support will be provided.

This is an excellent development opportunity for a social work practitioner who is confident and able to make decisions as well as being self-motivated and hard working. You will need to be able to work independently but also as part of a wider group of professionals, both internal and external to NCC, and within a strategic context. This post is ideal for either broadening your practitioner based experience or as a potential stepping stone to a management role.

Funding for this post has been agreed until the end of March 2018 but it is anticipated this will be extended for a further period. The current post holder is anticipated to return to work at the end of August 2018.

If you are interested in this opportunity, the attached job description/person specification provides an overview of the role and responsibilities for the post.  If you would like to discuss the post please contact Hannah Johnson, Service Manager, Safeguarding Children (Strategic) & LADO (hannah1.johnson@nottscc.gov.uk).

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
