The post holder will play an important role in continuing to improve provision and outcomes for pupils with a wide range of special educational needs. The successful applicant will be suitably qualified, highly knowledgeable and experienced regarding appropriate programmes, assessments and interventions and the barriers young people face. The pupils may have cognition and learning difficulties, together with a range of other needs such as autism or sensory needs.

You would be working at a variety of levels, using positive and inclusive approaches in your work with school staff, liaison with parents and when engaging in direct teaching or assessment, as appropriate. However, the majority of the work is at a strategic level and involves a high degree of training and support for SFSS staff and schools in the use of new ICT solutions, as well as the administration of the local authority Inclusive Technology Scheme.

You will be based with a very supportive team but working across the other teams within Schools and Families Specialists Services and the County as required. Your base will depend upon the needs of the team, but initially will be at Home Brewery, Arnold. The post carries an authorised car user allowance.
