Nottinghamshire has a number of children's residential homes across the county, providing both residential placements for children and young people, and specialist overnight short breaks for those with significant learning disabilities and associated challenging behaviours. We are currently looking to recruit relief staff to assist at our residential settings who have the right skills and knowledge to work with the most vulnerable service users, meeting their physical, emotional and health care needs.

Are you motivated, caring and committed to meeting the needs of the children and young people you care for as well as having the ability and resilience to work in what can be a very physically and emotionally challenging environment? Do you have experience of working with children and young people within a residential setting or in a similar role? Are you prepared to work shifts over 7 days a week including bank holidays? The early shift starts at 7am until 3pm and the late shifts are 2pm until 10pm. You will also have night awake and on occasions sleep in duties.

We currently have a vacancy for a relief Residential Care Worker Post.

In return we can offer:

  • Enhanced pay for shift work.
  • Generous holiday entitlement above statutory requirements.
  • Full induction including enrolment on a relevant Level 3 qualification if one is not already held.
  • Local Government pension scheme with a 6.5% employer contribution.
  • Childcare voucher scheme.
  • Westfield health scheme.
  • Many other employee offers and benefits which come with working for Nottinghamshire CC.

We are a forward thinking, innovative home which prides itself in providing the best possible care for our children and young people ensuring they meet their full potential. We are also proud of our staff team and you will receive regular supervisions with a senior member of staff.

There may be options for relief staff to move into permanent posts, as and when these become available.
