The Governing Body of Berry Hill Primary School is seeking to appoint an experienced, flexible and knowledgeable Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and popular school for 32.5 hours per week.

Our new teaching assistant will:

  • Be a highly motivated individual who will ensure the best possible outcomes for the children they work with
  • Have a working knowledge of supporting children with a wide range of special educational needs. Particular experience of working with children with communication needs would be desirable.
  • Be able to plan, prepare and deliver high quality, targeted support and intervention to support children to further accelerate their progress
  • Prepare and deliver lessons for individual pupils, groups and whole classes (under the overall direction of the teacher).
  • Provide quality, whole class cover
  • Be personable, friendly and have a good sense of humour
  • Have a commitment to their own professional development
  • Be dedicated to school improvement and the success of Berry Hill Primary School
  • Be a team player who can work closely with all colleagues, children and parents/carers
  • Be able to work on their own initiative
  • Be flexible and have a high level of organisational skills
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have a good knowledge of how children learn and of the Primary Curriculum and have excellent literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
