We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Social Worker who wishes to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable adults across the Nottinghamshire County. This role will primarily be Section 42 enquiries, fulfilling statutory obligations under The Care Act 2014. There will be no case management or commissioning involved in this role which will enable you as an individual to develop your skills and knowledge in this particular field across all disability groups in younger adults.

There may be a need to support teams where they have high levels of Court of Protection work and Community Treatment Reviews.

You will receive appropriate training and regular supervision focusing on the Safeguarding Capability Framework. This is an autonomous role where you will be expected to work on your own initiative, managing your workload with support from your line manager. Although your base will be either Lawn View or Meadow House you will be working flexibly across all bases in the county where work demands alongside smarter working policy.

You will need to have:

  • At least two years Social Work qualification (including HCPC registration).
  • Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards community care and safeguarding legislation.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Nottinghamshire’s Adult Social Care Strategy and an understanding of relevant policy and legislation underpinning social work practice.
  • Experience of completing Safeguarding enquiries, co-ordinating strategy meetings and working in partnership with other agencies.
  • Experience of working with complex cases whilst working towards making safeguarding personal principles.
  • Have effective communication, organisational and IT skills which are essential tools to aid developing flexible working practices.
