Children and young people’s mental health really matters, not only for the individual and their family, but for society as a whole. A great deal of work has been done in recent years to address the emotional wellbeing and mental health needs of children and young people…but we can do more.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented individual, who is passionate about making a difference to children’s mental health and wellbeing. You will join an ambitious team which works to make a positive impact on the outcomes of children and young people.

We are looking for a focused and determined individual who will be responsible for driving forward system-wide change. You will take responsibility for delivering and developing Nottinghamshire and Nottingham City multiagency transformation plans in response to the national Future in Mind report.

You will need the ability to work within a complex system and the experience and personal credibility to relate to a wide range of people who are relevant to the programme. Experience of planning, commissioning or leading children’s services (health and wellbeing, education, early help or social care) along with experience of leading successful projects or programmes is essential.

This opportunity is offered on a temporary 24-month basis initially, with extension a possibility, dependant on a number of factors.

The following statement applies to internal NCC employees: Secondments will be considered – prior approval will be required by your current manager.

The post will be hosted within the Nottinghamshire Children and Young People’s Integrated Commissioning Hub (ICH): http://www.nottinghamshire.gov.uk/caring/yourhealth/developing-health-services/childrenscommissioning/?source=ttapril2014

Informal discussions on the role are welcomed by Dr Kate Allen, Consultant in Public Health, who can be contacted on: 0115 977 2861.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.

Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
