The Governors of Underwood Church of England (VC) Primary School have an exciting opportunity for an energetic, talented and enthusiastic Early Years teacher to engage, inspire and enthuse our pupils as they begin their educational journey. We are looking to appoint someone who will be able to build on the existing successes of our school, helping to create inspiring and memorable ‘learning for life’ experiences for our youngest children, providing every opportunity for them to fulfil our school motto in ‘Being the BEST we can be!’.  

Visits and applications from ECTs and experienced teachers are both warmly welcomed.  This is a permanent, full time contract to start in September 2023.

The successful candidate will:

•  Be an enthusiastic, positive and passionate teacher, committed to raising attainment
•  Have the confidence and ability to lead the small EYFS team
•  Be passionate about children and their learning and be able to inspire, nurture and motivate
•  Be dynamic, motivated  and creative with your ideas
•  Have high standards of behaviour management and pupil engagement in the classroom
•  Have a thorough understanding of the EYFS curriculum and assessment and be prepared to deal with its implementation and development within the school
•  Be committed to providing children with a range of creative and innovative learning experiences
•  Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
•  Be willing to be part of a team that is committed to helping pupils reach their full potential
•  Have a thorough understanding of safeguarding practices and be committed to providing a secure and caring environment in which learning can take place
•  Have a good sense of humour and a willingness to get involved
•  Actively support our Christian ethos and enhance our church school distinctiveness
