£7.97 - £8.55 per hour. A Living Wage Allowance is payable on all hours worked to bring the pay rate for this post up to £8.45 per hour, the maximum rate of pay is £8.55 per hour

Nottinghamshire County Council Building Cleaning Service in conjunction with Bleasby C of E Primary School are looking to appoint a Caretaker to take up the post with immediate effect. You will be required to work a split shift working pattern commencing duties at 6am until 9am and 3.30pm to 6.30pm Monday to Friday. (Some flexibility will be needed at times, ie: during the school holiday periods when deep cleans take place)

Bleasby C of E Primary School is a friendly / outgoing establishment supplying education to children between the ages of 4 – 11 in the heart of Bleasby Village. Situated approximately 9.5 miles from Newark, 4.5 miles from Southwell & 14 miles from Nottingham means that your own means of transport will be required.

The post is predominately one of cleaning along with compliance checks & Caretaker duties, so should apply to both male & female applicants.

Duties will include:- Vacuuming, Toilet Cleaning, Dusting, Sweeping, Mopping, Furniture Cleaning etc. and the periodic use of electrical polishing equipment . The Post holder will also be responsible as the main key holder in case of emergency’s i.e. Fire and Intruder Alarm activations. There will also be the requirement to do some minor DIY repairs around the building.

This position is one of lone working and you will have responsibility for the cleaning of all external areas this will include gulley cleaning, litter picking, snow removal and salting and general sweeping etc. The successful candidate should therefore be able to work using their own initiative and have keen eye for detail in order to maintain high levels of cleanliness throughout the site

As a new starter you will be entitled to a generous annual leave package of 24 days initially (all leave must be taken during school closure periods), this will rise to 29 days after 5yrs service. Experience in cleaning is desirable but not essential as training will be given on site.   Protective clothing and other PPE will be provided as required.
