Post 1: 8.45am – 12.45pm Monday- Friday
Post 2: 12.30pm – 3.25pm Monday-Friday
The Governors of Costock CE Primary School are seeking to appoint two Personal Health Care Assistants to support our established 1:1 Teaching Assistant team. The post holders will work within the team delivering specialist health care to a pupil who experienced a high cervical spine injury and has limited mobility below the neck. The child has extensive care needs and is tracheostomy and ventilator dependant and is also fed by mouth and gastrostomy.
Applicants will require GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above. Equivalent qualifications will be considered.
The post will include:
- Carrying out specific health care procedures in line with agreed care plans.
- Carrying out all required medical tasks, following training, to ensure the pupil is safe and secure within the school environment and is ready to learn.
- Being confident to use specialist medical equipment (initial and ongoing training and support will be provided).
- Lead practitioner for the child’s medical and handling needs.
- Work in partnership with the 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant.
- Cover for the other Personal Care Assistant when required.
