The Newark town partnership’s alternative provision is a centre which provides education for students who require an alternative educational provision for a range of reasons. Students are from local secondary schools and study a range of qualifications including GCSEs and vocational courses. The small, nurturing environment leads to these students achieving success and moving on to further education, employment and training. The partnership is led by Magnus Church of England Academy and Newark Academy and is based in Newark.  We are looking for a lead mentor who will:

• Inspire and engage young people through building strong relationships which enable them to make good academic progress.
• Reduce barriers to learning/behaviour patterns by improving motivation, engagement and enjoyment within a nurturing and safe environment in which individuals can grow and learn.
• Actively mentor the hardest to reach students.
• Plan, resource and deliver lessons within a range of curriculum areas including vocational, personal and social development units and GCSE subjects.
• Liaise, communicate and support our most vulnerable students and their families working alongside external agencies and key staff within both schools to develop better learning, social strategies and maximise their achievement.
