You will be supporting the department’s statutory requirements which will aid current workload pressures across younger adults in Nottinghamshire. We aim to deliver a high standard of work and use of best practise within our all of our duties.

We are looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated social worker who wish to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable adults with Learning Disability in the Mansfield area. Mansfield Community Learning Disability Team manages a high volume of work and the team’s main functions are promoting independence while undertaking assessments under The Care Act, commissioning and reviewing services, undertaking safeguarding investigations and fulfilling statutory obligations under the Mental Capacity and Mental Health Acts. You will also will be working closely in partnership with health colleagues from the Nottinghamshire NHS Trust who are co-located in the same office.

You will need to have:

  • A Social Work qualification (including HCPC registration).
  • Extensive knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards community care and safeguarding legislation.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Nottinghamshire’s Adult Social Care Strategy and an understanding of relevant policy and legislation underpinning social work practice.
  • Two years’ experience of completing Community Care Assessments, Mental Capacity Assessments, Best Interest decisions and risk assessments.
  • Experience of working with complex cases and working with internal and external partners
  • Have effective communication, organisational and IT skills which are essential tools to aid developing flexible working practices
  • You will need to hold a driving licence and have regular use of a vehicle for this post.
