The Living Well Newark and Sherwood Team are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, qualified Social Worker to join our Multi-Specialist Team.   

This is an exciting opportunity to work with individuals aged 18-65 with care and support needs. An interest in and experience of working with people who have a physical disability and mental health needs would be welcome.  

You will need to have a good understanding and experience of the application of the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act, you will have experience of working creatively with adults who have care and support needs and will bring a commitment to the principles of strength’s-based practice, promoting independence and wellbeing.  

Experienced candidates will be expected to undertake care act assessments, support planning, commissioning, and safeguarding duties, whilst newly qualified candidates will be expected to work towards these tasks with appropriate support. 

You will be working in an exciting and sometimes challenging environment in close partnership with external agencies and providers, which will require high levels of confidence and independence. 

You will need to have effective communication, negotiation, organisational and IT skills which are essential tools to aid developing flexible working practices. 

In return you will have support to develop your own practice, with access to learning and development opportunities and regular supervision. The department supports the ASYE programme for newly qualified social workers.
