Are you looking for the opportunity to get back into the work force, or are you looking for a fresh challenge? Then we can you use your skills. Can you work on your own initiative and like to manage your own work load? We are offering an opportunity to work in the County Council utilising those skills and learning new ones.

We currently have one full time post (currently temporary until September 2017) as a minute taker providing support to a team of Child Protection Coordinators working within child care. You need to be organised, enthusiastic and flexible. Your duties will include attending a variety of sensitive and confidential Safeguarding meetings to record and distribute minutes, diary management and maintenance of IT database systems. You will be aware of the importance of maintaining confidentiality and acting within the Data Protection Act.

You will have proven word processing skills and a good grasp of sentence construction, grammar and spelling. Shorthand is not essential. You will have an eye for detail and an ability to work on

your own initiative to meet legislative deadlines. You will need to be able to travel to different locations to attend meetings (for which you will receive reimbursement).

As part of the interview process a minute taking test will be given.

This is a very busy role and an awareness of safeguarding issues around children will be an advantage but not necessary as you will be given extensive training and support working alongside experienced colleagues in a supportive environment.

We are able to offer flexi-time hours and happy to take job-share applicants. We operate from bases across the County in either Meadow House, Mansfield; Sherwood Energy Village, New Ollerton or at Sir John Robinson Way in Arnold. Please stipulate in your application which work base you would prefer.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.

Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
