This is an exciting time to join our Approved Mental Health Professional County Wide Team as a dedicated, creative, and experienced social care manager as we have recently implemented a 24-hour service. We require a person who is a warranted and practicing AMHP and must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19. They will provide strong leadership and management in crisis situations and be able to implement change e.g. the MH reform Bill and Breathing Space. You must demonstrate that they have a strategic and operational focus, ensuring that our Mental health services are fit for the future.

You will manage the team’s performance to ensure that the Council’s services are of high quality and reflect best practice. They will make decisions and solve problems in a fast paced and complex service environment. You will be required to work outside normal working hours on a regular basis on an on-call rota; thus, they would need to be flexible.

You will liaise with a range of partners including primary and secondary care services, police, ambulance and the third sector. The team manager, in conjunction with the AMHP staff, provide training, advice, and support for other teams in respect of mental health issues, ensuring that the least restrictive option is taken. The Team Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of the team, which includes supervising staff, financial management and attendance at a variety of internal and external meetings.

The Team manager will be working closely with the existing Group Manager to ensure that Council meets their statutory duties and regulatory requirements. In addition, the Team Manager will also lead and contribute to the Council’s Covid-19 recovery plan and the transformation of services, in line with the Council’s strategic priorities. Moreover, the postholder will be responsible to embed the Council’s Owning and Driving Performance programme across services.
