These are exciting times for Nottinghamshire County Council’s ICT Service. Having reshaped our operating and staffing structure an opportunity has arisen to lead our ICT PMO Function. Based within the Business Change and Engagement Team at County Hall, Nottingham, you will build on a newly established PMO function within ICT. You will lead the overall coordination and management of over 100 programmes and projects that make up ICT’s transformation and infrastructure improvement portfolio. Directly managing a team of PMO Officers, Deployment Support Specialists and external project managers, you will ensure that projects and programmes are delivered consistently and to required standards. You will also resource manage project managers, business analysts and technical staff ensuring they are deployed on priority activity and that any resource conflicts are managed effectively.

The PMO function manages the end to end project and programme process for ICT as well as provides the key services that make up the PMO function. These include resource and demand management, performance monitoring, risk, issue and change management, portfolio analysis, centre of excellence and other functions.

You will have demonstrable experience in project and programme management as well as experience of establishing and managing a PMO function. You will be educated to degree level and hold professional qualifications in related project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, MSP, P3O, Agile etc.) You will have excellent communication, people management and customer service skills and be a credible champion for driving up standards in project and programme management across the ICT and corporate transformation portfolio.
