Judged by Ofsted as outstanding, the amazing thing about Outwood Academy Portland is what happens every day in every lesson.

Outwood Academy Portland has an exciting opportunity for an outstanding individual who puts students first and is proactive, enthusiastic and dynamic to join our established Inclusion Team. This is a newly created post that commits to inclusive practice; if you can make a difference to disadvantaged children’s lives and want to be part of an outstanding academy then we would love to hear from you.

We have created an educational environment where staff and students constantly strive to improve; where teachers sharpen their skills and expand their repertoires to deliver an outstanding learning experience; and where teachers, classroom assistants, mentors, tutors, inclusion support assistants and students operate as a seamless team.

To be successful, you will need to be extremely well organised, have the ability to prioritise workload, ensure strict deadlines are met, and adhere to the SEND Code of Practice. Working with the most vulnerable children in society, it is fundamental that you can deal with challenges that students present with and work with parents and external agencies in a professional, prompt and confidential manner. The ability to work on your own initiative, be a role model to others and effectively manage others are essential.

The academy is ranked well within the top 10% of schools nationally for student progress and in 2019 83% of our students achieved Grade 4 or above in English and Maths. But that’s just the beginning. Today we’re Outstanding; tomorrow, with your talents, we’ll be even more exceptional.

As one of the highest performing Family of Schools in the North of England, Outwood Grange Academies Trust is transforming the futures of countless young people. You can be part of this unique place, in the historic town of Worksop, with easy access to Nottingham, Lincoln and Sheffield.

Wherever possible, in place of academy-based interviews, we have set up systems to ensure that alternative options are still available via skype/video conferencing. Every effort will be made to try to accommodate any specific requirements so that no-one is at a disadvantage.
