An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Older Adults Community Assessment Team for the Mansfield/Ashfield localities in Mid Nottinghamshire. We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, hard-working Senior Practitioner to work alongside the Team Managers.

The team consists of Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and Community Care Officers and is involved in completing social work and OT assessments, commissioning support packages, equipment provision, setting up direct payments, making safeguarding enquiries, undertaking carer’s assessments and mental capacity assessments, to name but a few.

Applications are invited from suitably professionally qualified Social Workers to take on this role. You will have the necessary skills and experience to provide professional support and supervision to team members. You will need to manage a small caseload of complex cases (including those which are high risk) and be able to respond to other complex work such as safeguarding or mental capacity assessments.

You will be provided with a comprehensive induction programme, access to training, and other professional development opportunities to enable you to fulfil your role, raise your competency level and progress your career. You will be provided with regular support and supervision. We have mobilised our Social Care Teams which means that employees are issued with tablet devices to enable them to work more flexibly and reduce overall travel time. We are currently undergoing a Programme of Transformation to ensure we are a modern workplace and are able to respond quickly to changes within the sector.

Our aim is to provide a great quality Social Care Service to the residents of Mid-Nottinghamshire. In return we offer generous annual leave entitlement, flexible working and learning & development opportunities.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
