We are looking for an experienced Band B Occupational Therapist/Social Worker to join the North Notts Enabling Service (NES). The North NES team is made up of Promoting Independence Workers (PIWs), Coproduction Development Workers, a transitions Community Independence Worker (CIW), and a team leader.

The focus of the NES service is to promote independence and improve people’s skills through provision of short periods (up to 12 weeks) of goal driven, targeted enablement. This could involve enabling the person to find opportunities for voluntary/paid work, independent travel, domestic skills (cooking, shopping and household routines) social opportunities, keeping safe or confidence building. We also introduce people to our Coproduction network and wider opportunities for social inclusion.

As the only Band B clinician in the team you will work alongside our team leader, supervising and mentoring PIW/CIW staff, screening referrals, and allocating work. You will lead on first visits to agree enablement goals, provide risk assessments and oversee the enablement plan undertaken by our PIWs. You will also lead on complex cases, negotiate with involved fieldworkers to agree opportunities for enablement that will reduce/avoid/delay the need for commissioned services. You will take a lead role to develop specific aspects of the service, such as our transitions work and will also have the opportunity to contribute your ideas and professional influence within the wider development of the service.

We are offering a great opportunity to develop this non-traditional role with a focus on creative solutions that brings the best outcomes for the recipients of our service. NES is a high profile service and continues to develop and grow. We are looking for a dedicated and forward thinking individual who brings flair, creativity and a passion for enablement. The successful candidate will join a forward thinking and vibrant team with ongoing opportunities for service and staff development. You will have regular supervision, ongoing training to meet your development needs and be provided with IT equipment for mobile, flexible working.
