Full Time
The Joseph Whitaker School, Warsop Ln, Rainworth, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire NG21 0AG
Standard Scale

Required from September 2016

We wish to appoint a dynamic and well-qualified Art teacher to join our Art department. The ability to teach one of the technology specialisms would be an advantage and vice versa.

Facilities are outstanding and the successful candidate will join a newly appointed Head of Art.

The Joseph Whitaker School is a popular oversubscribed school. A strong purposeful ethos has been created, centred on hard work and success. This is built on very good relationships, strong systems and high quality teaching. We were inspected in December 2015 and judged to be a ‘Good School’. Following a period of fluctuation in staffing in Art the focus of the newly formed department will be to increase option numbers at KS4 and KS5 and more importantly, improving examination outcomes.

This post provides an exceptional opportunity and we are looking for an individual with the following qualities:

•               The skills to teach Art across all Key Stages

•               The ability and desire to become an outstanding classroom teacher

•               The ability and desire to contribute positively to the wider school community

•               Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire others.

We can offer you:

•               A successful and ambitious school

•               A skilled, friendly, supportive and professional team of staff

•               A commitment to provide leadership training and professional development opportunities of the highest quality

•               An outstanding support programme for new staff.

The post would be suitable for an NQT or an experienced member of staff.

For further details and an application form please email linnells@josephwhitaker.org.

Candidates are more than welcome to visit the school at any time. The closing date for applications is noon on Monday 7th March 2016

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undertake a criminal record check via the DBS.
