We are seeking to recruit a temporary (maternity leave cover) team manager to join our Broxtowe District Child Protection Team to help us achieve our vision for all our children, young people and families in Nottinghamshire County Council.

As a registered social worker with Social Work England, you will have a minimum of 2 years' post qualifying experience working with children and families in the statutory sector. You will have the capacity and/or the experience of managing people effectively and the ability to lead a team to achieve positive outcomes and ensuring the children that we work with are supported and safeguarded. You will also be able to demonstrate a breadth of knowledge and experience and ideally have experience of working within the strengths-based practice framework.

As the Team Manager, you will have to lead, manage, and motivate experienced staff and newly qualified workers to ensure that all children's outcomes are improved and that they are safeguarded effectively, demonstrating your expert practice in complex situations when making decisions and managing higher levels of risk.

You will be motivated, committed, and passionate about making a difference to the lives of children, young people and families. You will be able to build effective working relationships, demonstrate strong analytical skills, supervise and appraise your team and ensure all team members have the relevant skills and knowledge to work effectively and efficiently and a robust understanding of the care proceedings process.
This is an exciting career opportunity for an aspiring/experienced team manager, to work within a front-line child protection team, whilst focusing on the delivery of outstanding services to ensure children and young people are afforded every opportunity to achieve their best possible outcomes.

Nottinghamshire County Council are committed to developing and supporting their workforce and offer a wide range of good quality training and opportunities to develop management skills within the team manager role. In addition, social work practice is supported through social work support officers and social work assistants; alleviating administrative and support tasks for social workers which enables them to progress case work and focus on the social work role.

This post is also available as a secondment opportunity to existing Nottinghamshire County Council employees. You must seek approval from your line manager before applying.
Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
