This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified social worker, with the ability to work with children who have parallel plans for permanence where one of these plans is adoption. You will be enthusiastic and highly motivated, with excellent communication, report writing skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of agencies and teams. You will undertake life story work with children and prepare them for adoption. It will be your responsibility to find an adoptive family for the child and to undertake any outstanding work with the birth family.

Your sound knowledge of relevant legislation and care planning will ensure that you consistently apply high standards to improve outcomes for children and their families.  The Permanence Team is a county wide team, with available touch down areas to work from. You will need to have the ability to carry out assessments, assist in permanence planning, be able to write high quality reports for the purpose of adoption including child permanence reports, as well as have experience of direct work with children.  This post carries an authorised user car allowance and is subject to DBS checks and HCPC registered.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
