The Big House is an eight bedded children's home providing overnight short breaks for children with a significant intellectual disabilities and behaviours that can prevent challenges. We are a forward thinking, innovative home which provides a high level of care for the children we work with ensuring that they reach their full potential. We are looking for inspirational individuals who have the right skills and knowledge to work with the most vulnerable children, meeting their physical, emotional and health care needs.  

Are you motivated, caring and committed to meeting the needs of the children you care for as well as having the ability and resilience to work in what can be a very physically and emotionally challenging environment?

You must have 6 months experience working with children, young people or adults either in a voluntary, work or other relevant setting. You will be expected to work shifts over 7 days including weekends and bank holidays. The early shift is 7am to 2.30pm or 7am to 11am with the late shift being 2pm to 10pm. The role has enhanced pay for weekends and bank holidays.  

You will be given a full induction and you will be expected to undertake all training relevant to the post.  If you do not have the appropriate level 3 qualification, you will be required to register for the qualification within 6 months of being confirmed into post.  You will be supported to achieve the qualification. You will also have regular supervision with a manager.  You will also receive a generous holiday entitlement above statutory requirements.
