Could you help us to commission health services for children in Nottinghamshire? We are looking for an experienced commissioning professional to work as a Senior Public Health and Commissioning Manager in our Children’s Integrated Commissioning Hub, working on commissioning activity related to children’s health services.

The Children’s Integrated Commissioning Hub is located in the Public Health division at Nottinghamshire County Council.  It leads commissioning of health services for children and young people in Nottinghamshire on behalf of NCC and Nottinghamshire CCGs. Current priorities include health services for children with special educational needs (SEND), maternity and community paediatric services, and health services for adolescents and young people.

Qualified to postgraduate level in Public Health or a related clinical subject, or with equivalent demonstrable experience, you’ll have experience of more than one area of Public Health practice, with a comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge of the main issues and influences affecting these areas, ideally including experience of clinical services. You will have experience of commissioning, Public Health or related work, and ideally, knowledge of the NHS. You will have excellent communication and partnership working skills, and be able to develop strategic and influencing relationships with senior staff, elected members, external organisations and partners. You will be accountable to a Consultant in Public Health and will work in a complex, multi-agency environment. You will have a flexible approach and be willing and able to develop and change your work areas according to the needs of the division.

Your portfolio will include a lead role in the Children’s Integrated Commissioning Hub. You will also participate in arrangements for ensuring clinical governance and quality in commissioned Public Health services.

You will be primarily based at County Hall, Nottingham, but with the option to work flexibly with an alternative base at Meadow House in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.

Nottinghamshire County Council has a NHS Pension Direction Order in place, which means that we are able to provide ongoing access to the NHS Pension Scheme (NHSPS) where we recruit eligible new joiners to public health roles who are currently in the NHSPS.
