Main responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • Perform routine reception duties, answer telephone, take messages and answer basic enquiries from staff, pupils, parents, governors and general public.
  • Provide basic secretarial services including minute taking, typing and arranging the diary.
  • Administration of school admissions and leavers.
  • Attendance monitoring including reporting and analysis.
  • Maintenance of pupils files and records
  • Undertake routine invoice and order processing.
  • Processing the termly Census returns.
  • Undertake cash collection duties and maintain appropriate records to ensure all cash is accounted for.
  • Undertaking of the weekly dinner money collection/banking duties.
  • Photocopy and assemble routine documents including the distribution of letters, reports, etc.
  • Receive and process incoming and outgoing mail.  

Personal Specification:

  • Experience of working in a school office environment.
  • Experience of working on Scholar pack, Financial Management systems and other school based systems desirable.
  • Experience of providing clerical support in a school office.
  • Excellent IT skills, able to produce formal documents along with knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook 365 desirable.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Professional and welcoming manner essential.
  • Confidence with visitors essential.
  • Awareness of the importance of confidentiality and the safeguarding of children essential.
