£9.18 - £9.55 per hour (A Living Wage Allowance is payable on all hours worked to bring the pay rate for this post up to a minimum of £9.30 per hour, the maximum rate of pay is £9.55 per hour)

We are looking for an individual with excellent customer care, organisational and word processing skills to work on a busy reception/switchboard and undertake a range of general clerical duties.

The successful applicant will be able to maintain a calm disposition, have a pleasant telephone manner, be able to work efficiently unsupervised and deal with clients and staff courteously and professionally.

Clayfields House is a secure children’s home which aims to offer the highest standards in all areas of its work. It accommodates young people between the ages of 10 and 18 years who may be accommodated for welfare reasons, on remand or serving sentences following convictions.

The reception is covered seven days a week including bank holidays and the shifts cover a three week rota with the times being:-

Week 1 - Monday / Tuesday / Friday 3pm – 9pm

Week 2 - Wednesday / Thursday 3.30pm – 9pm Saturday 3pm – 8pm

Week 3 - Saturday 10am – 3pm / Sunday 11am - 7pm 

There will be opportunities for additional shifts and some flexibility around working arrangements and covering absences would be required. 

This post is to provide maternity cover for an initial 9 month period with a view to extending.
