Self Help UK’s aim is to innovate locally to replicate nationally and bringing locally developed self help groups’ activity to the forefront of health and social care practitioners thinking when supporting people with long-term conditions and life affecting situations. Self Help UK has secured partners for an exciting new project, which aims to tackle issues faced by workers in the construction industry in Nottingham (a sector that has been identified as having high levels of mental ill health).

The post holder will oversee, develop and coordinate the Project in partnership with a range of stakeholders. The post involves facilitating support and training to groups of individuals in the construction sector on a self help model. They will also train and support peer mentors to develop the self help groups which result from the Project and to maintain their sustainability beyond the Project’s end..
