Teaching Assistant

Required from January 2019 for 31 hours/week, term time only - Monday,Tuesday,Thursday,Friday – 08.45 to 3.15, Wednesday – 08.45 – 4.15

The Joseph Whitaker School is a popular oversubscribed school of 1276 students with attainment levels above the national average at both GCSE and post 16. At our last inspection in December 2015, the school was judged as being “Good”. The school is now a member of the East Midlands Education Trust (EMET). We are looking for a pro-active and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant. The successful applicant will contribute to the inclusion work within school by helping to raise standards of achievement for pupils with SEND. The post will include supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties across KS3, both in class and on a 1-1 or small group basis within our Student Support Centre. Experience of working with pupils with ADHD and those on the Autism Spectrum, and a specialism in either literacy or numeracy is desirable but training will be given to the successful candidate.
