Accounting Technician - School Finance
This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly School Finance team and play your part in helping to shape the young minds of today to become the adults of the future. We are based in the Children and Families Finance Division at County Hall (the team work flexibly between County Hall, home and schools).
As part of the team you will be providing high quality financial advice/support, information and analysis to Head teachers, school Budget Managers and Governors, largely on a sold service basis (including an audit service) which will require you to carry out on-site/virtual visits to schools. Consequently, the possession of full driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential requirements for the role (a taxi service will be provided where disability precludes this).
You will be at least part AAT qualified (or with exemptions) or equivalent, with experience of working in a financial environment with a range of financial systems and processes. If you’re not fully qualified AAT and wish to continue your studies, the LA would be willing to consider funding your training. You must be able to manage your own performance to meet objectives and provide an excellent customer focused service. The ability to work on your own initiative, pay attention to detail and understand and interpret information is essential, as are good communication and interpersonal skills.
In return, you will be joining an organisation with excellent employee terms and conditions such as flexible (hybrid) working, generous leave and Pension scheme.
If you would like an informal chat about the role or wish to discuss anything in more detail please contact Aaron Connor, Finance Business Partner, aaron.connor@nottscc.gov.uk or on 0115 9773579
