We require a qualified Approved Mental Health Professional who is a dynamic, skilled and enthusiastic team member to provide high quality Mental Health Act assessments as part of the Countywide AMHP Team.


The appointed person will be based at Ollerton but expected to travel throughout the County of Nottinghamshire. You will be part of a team of 10 Advanced Social Work Practitioners, a Team Manager with an attached business support administrator. Although the team is currently staffed by social work AMHP's we are happy to receive applications from practising AMHP Nurses or Occupational Therapists.


Your duties will also include manning a single point of access referral system, gathering assessment information and deploying colleagues to assessments. You will also be expected to advise a variety of professionals about matters relating to mental health legislation and other challenging demands such as supervising students and supporting other AMHPs.


Excellent communication skills, record keeping, experience of safeguarding issues and quality report writing are also essential. You will be dealing with service users, their carers, and a range of fellow professionals from partnership agencies. You will be required to deputise for the team manager on occasions, to work on your own initiative, meet deadlines whilst working under pressure and have an awareness of and a commitment to Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety issues especially lone working. Knowledge of safeguarding processes is also essential.
