Nottinghamshire Youth Justice Service are recruiting an Advanced Practitioner to the West Team covering Mansfield and Ashfield areas.

Advanced Practitioners are at the heart of the team; supporting Case Managers and partnership staff to work effectively with young people who are involved or at risk of involvement in offending. The role involves providing direct supervision for Case Managers working with young people who are subject to intervention as well as oversight of specific processes such as reports for Court and assessments of young people. Our Advanced Practitioners chair Case Management Meetings where risk management plans are formulated, attend the Youth Crime Panel and work to improve the effectiveness of the service through quality assurance and practice development.

Whilst the role involves oversight, development and processes, it is also a case holding one, with Advanced Practitioners expected to supervise young people who are subject to interventions, particularly our young people with the most complex needs.

The successful candidate will therefore have an excellent working knowledge of the Youth Justice System and be able to advise, guide and develop staff in terms of their roles and responsibilities in managing risk, producing reports and assessments and providing interventions for young people.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.

Nottinghamshire County Council strives to ensure that it goes beyond the requirements of the Equalities Act and prides itself on being accredited as a Disability Confident Leader Organisation.

Therefore, the County Council encourages applications from all, irrespective of gender, marital status, disability, race, religion, belief, pregnancy and maternity status, age or sexual orientation.
