Salary: Grade 2 (pt 2-4: £18,198 - £18,933 term time only)

REQUIRED FROM SEPTEMBER 1 2021

This post is temporary on an “until not needed basis” but subject to review, will terminate on 28 July 2022. This is because the successful candidate will support the needs of named child(ren), which may change.  The appointment will be subject to review, on an ongoing basis, but particularly at the end of each term for the named child(ren). The employment contract may be reviewed leading to a reduction in hours or termination at any point should the child(ren) for whom support is provided become able to cope with their school work without assistance, or should they leave the school.

The Governors of Banks Road Infant and Nursery School wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support a child who has a global development impairment and has an EHCP in place. 

We have a hard-working staff team, enthusiastic children and supportive Governors and parents. Staff work hard to provide the very best for our pupils and in return they receive the support and training to enable them to be the best they can be.

You must be qualified in a relevant childcare qualification. All applications will be considered and while SEN experience would be an advantage, it is not essential as relevant training will be given to the right candidate.  

In addition you will need to:

• Be a positive and enthusiastic person who loves working with children and helping them to strive and achieve their best outcomes. 

• Be able to support children in their learning and achievement.

• Have good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Have a professional and mature attitude.

• Be self-motivated.

• Have the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.

• Feed back to the class teacher, maintaining records of progress.

• Work with children to support any social, emotional, behavioural, personal care or medical needs

• Liase with parents and external professionals 

• Have a flexible attitude, good sense of humour and be friendly and approachable.
