Are you interested in Adoption?. Do you have the ability to make assessments to assist in permanence planning?. Have you the ability to write high quality reports for the purpose of adoption including child permanence reports?. Do you have experience of direct work with children?. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified social worker, with the ability to work with children who have parallel plans for permanence where one of these plans is adoption.

You will be enthusiastic and highly motivated, with excellent communication, report writing skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of agencies and teams. You will undertake life story work with children and prepare them for adoption.  It will be your responsibility to find an adoptive family for the child and to undertake any outstanding work with the birth family.

The post requires a social worker to complete some court work through undertaking pre birth assessments, when the plan may be adoption as well as completing viability assessments and special guardianship assessments. The team also carries out non agency adoption work. Your sound knowledge of relevant legislation and care planning will ensure that you consistently apply high standards to improve outcomes for children and their families.
