Inspire’s Community Learning and Skills Service is keen to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced tutor to deliver sessions on its Study Programme provision. The course provides opportunities for disadvantaged young people to engage in positive activities that encourage Personal and Social Development. In addition, the Service is looking to expand its learning offer to directly deliver courses to adults across the County. The successful candidate may also be expected to support in the delivery of these programmes.

Based primarily at the Stapleford Young People’s Centre you will need to have the ability to develop constructive professional working relationships and understand some of the issues facing young people in today’s society. You will be required to work Monday to Friday, delivering Aim Award qualifications as well as Functional Skills maths and English to young people aged 16 to 19 who may have learning difficulties or disabilities, or behavioural issues. You need to be qualified to at least grade A-C in GCSE English and maths (or equivalent). You will also need to hold a teaching qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE, DET, or equivalent) or be willing to work towards one.

The post will be based at the Stapleford Young People’s Centre although reorganisation within the Service may require the post holder to deliver provision at other bases. Initially the post will be offered on a temporary basis until 31st July 2017. For further information contact Andy Ashley on 0115 9773594.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
