Retained "on call" Firefighters
As an On-Call Firefighter you have to be able to provide operational cover within a 5 minute period of travel time of the station you have applied for.
Our On-Call Firefighters are members of the community who are paid to respond to a variety of emergencies. They face all kinds of challenges from floods and fires to road traffic collisions; they also inform our communities about fire safety and prevention. They are notified of an emergency call via a personal pager, which they carry with them at all times whilst “on-call”.
