Due to a retirement in December, Nottinghamshire County Council Building Cleaning Service in conjunction with Bispham Drive Junior School requires a new Caretaker. Working a 37 hour week you will be required to clean and maintain the building and offer a range of services for the benefit of pupils, parents and staff. Bispham Drive School is situated within spacious grounds. We boast a large playing field, pond area and many mature trees. We are proud of our surrounds and maintaining high standards are paramount. We are a ‘Good’ school striving forward.

Are you looking for?

  • A great school full of enthusiastic with well-behaved children
  • Colleagues committed to collaborative working with a great sense of humour
  • Beautiful and spacious grounds
  • Supportive governors for all staff
  • A school that genuinely values ideas and enthusiasm
  • A place where kindness, respect, courage, resilience and honesty are at the heart of everything we do
  • A school that knows where it is going

The role will be to deliver a full range of caretaking, maintenance, janitorial and cleaning duties, this could also include routine gardening work for the right candidate. It is however essential that a flexible approach is taken to adapt to different shift patterns should the need arise. You will need to be smart in appearance, wearing a provided uniform and need to be flexible in your approach to lettings, for which additional payments will be made. We would want you to work positively with staff and parents and be a good team worker. Previous experience of this type of work would be advantageous but ideally we are looking for someone with interest and a high degree of commitment to ensure a safe and healthy environment for staff, children and visitors to the school. We are committed to protecting the well being of children following the ‘Safer Recruiting’ procedures when making appointments and therefore this post is subject to an enhanced DBS check, medical and satisfactory references.

If you would like to visit the school to have a look around, this can be arranged by contacting Victoria Jones on 0115 9137447.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
