Inspire Learning is keen to recruit term-time Learning Support Assistants to support classroom delivery until the end of the 2021-22 academic year.

We work with 16 to 24 year-olds on full-time Study Programmes. Some of these learners have mild to moderate learning difficulties and/or behavioural needs, and some may have social, emotional and mental health issues.

While with us, they work on their employability, personal and social development. Some complete vocational qualifications and all do Maths, English and have the opportunity to gain work experience. They also benefit from the excellent pastoral care provided by our staff and take part in enrichment activities, which often happen outside of the classroom.

The ideal candidates should have experience of developing constructive working relationships with other professionals, and ideally with young people in an educational setting. Additionally, they will have a good understanding of the issues facing young people in today’s society and have a positive, enthusiastic attitude in helping them overcome their barriers to education.

A – C GCSE grades (or equivalent) in English and Maths are required, as is an ability to recognise and respond to the needs of young people, in turn providing the necessary encouragement and motivation needed to help them succeed. This is an excellent opportunity to pursue a career in education with an expanding local organisation which delivers vital services to both adults and young people across the county.

We currently have vacancies in Worksop, Newark, Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Arnold, Hucknall, Eastwood and Retford. Please stipulate to which bases you would be willing to travel in the ‘please tell us why you would like to work for Inspire’ section of the online form.

The number of hours may vary depending upon demand but will be on average 8.30 – 4.00, 3 days a week, term-time only. Which 3 days varies according to base and additional days may also be available, for example supporting young people on work placement. Training and support will be given to help the successful candidates undertake the role
