The Role:

As a Group Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading our children's residential care and fostering service in Nottinghamshire including disability homes, respite care and a large secure unit providing welfare and justice beds. You will lead a senior team of dedicated professionals, ensuring the highest standards of care and support are delivered to children and young people in our care.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and management to the children's residential care and fostering services.
  • Work with Directors and Elected Members to develop the strategic direction for services, manage day-to-day operations and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Lead and support a team of care professionals, promoting a positive and nurturing environment.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the quality of care and support provided.
  • Collaborate with external agencies to ensure effective coordination and partnership working.
  • Oversee quality assurance and self assessment processes.
  • Manage budgets and resources efficiently, making sure the service operates within allocated funding.
  • Support and mentor staff, providing training and development opportunities to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Act as an Agency Decision Maker in respect of adoption.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a leadership role within children's social care.
  • Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices in the field.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with staff, children, families, and external partners.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • A professional qualification in social work including registration with Social Work England.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as required.
