An opportunity has arisen for experienced Project Officers to support the delivery of a range of complex cross-council, cross-organisational and departmental transformation projects. The projects will involve working with corporate sponsors, service leads and internal/external senior stakeholders. Project Officers play a key role within the Transformation and Change Group.

Candidates who have development potential may be considered and recruited as Project Support Officers at scale 5, so if you feel you would like to work in transformation and are working towards developing the skills in this job description we'd love to hear from you.

The focus of our strategic projects includes social care, services for residents, operational transformation and devolution, and candidates will be expected to have a general understanding of local government context at interview.

The role will be expected to:

  • Support the delivery of projects that support cross-Council and departmental change to the appropriate levels of quality, time, budget and performance.
  • Lead on smaller projects and workstreams.
  • Support the establishment of business cases, project plans, risk registers and other key project documentation.
  • Deputise for the Project Manager when required.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
  • Apply a critical thinking approach to understanding information.

This is an exciting role that will provide the right applicants with broad development potential – no two projects are the same – and real job satisfaction knowing that the work they do supports Nottinghamshire residents.

You will need to provide demonstrable project experience as set out in the attached job description and person specification.
