Nottinghamshire is the 11th largest local authority in the country and has a large children and young people’s social care service. Following the departure of a team member we are now in a position to offer a post for an Occupational Therapist.

The Occupational Therapy Service works with and alongside other teams in the Integrated Children’s’ Services Disability Service providing specialist assessments for children and young people up until they are 18 years of age who have a disability which has a substantial adverse effect on their ability to carry out normal day to day activities.

The service aims to promote a child’s independence, safety and welfare within their own home and/ or short break environments by provision of equipment, adaptation solutions, education and support to carers.

Candidates must have an interest in working with disabled children and young people and be prepared to work collaboratively with their families, carers and wider agencies. A thorough understanding of safeguarding is required.

The chosen person will be able to work both independently and as part of an established, creative and ambitious team to deliver a high level of customer care.

Support will be provided by the OT manager to ensure the service meets standards in respect of customer service and secures the best outcomes for the children and their families.

Candidates will need to be a qualified Occupational Therapist, be registered with the Health professions Council and will need to have a current driving licence and use of a car for business purposes.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
