The Headteacher and Governors of The Primary School of St Mary & St Martin wish to appoint a suitably experienced CLEANER with CARETAKER DUTIES for as soon as possible during June 2018. 

We require an efficient and effective Cleaner/Caretaker to work within our small village school. Last year we had significant refurbishment including new toilets, carpets and decoration. This year we are hoping on having an extension to our Early Years Classroom. 

  • You will be responsible for the cleanliness of the building and have key-holder / security responsibilities.
  • You will need to have an excellent range of skills including cleaning to a high, hygienic standard and general site maintenance.
  • You will be able to communicate effectively with a range of people including staff, parents and contractors.
  • It would be advantageous to have an understanding of relevant Health & Safety issues as you will have to follow HSE regulations and NCC      procedures at all times. Relevant training will be provided.
  • You will have high expectations for yourself and be motivated, approachable and efficient in order to manage your time effectively. 

Term-Time hours of work:

Monday – Friday: 5.5 hrs per day (27.5 hrs per week) 

There is some flexibility as to the exact working hours, but it would need to be split-shift

(for example, 6am - 8am and 5pm – 8.30pm) 

During the school holidays the hours can be arranged as appropriate to the task being completed. 

Additional hours will be available to cover out-of-hours lettings or to complete additional duties that are required.
