Chetwynd Primary Academy appointment of 2.5 permanent teachers:

0.5 Teacher in F2 (part time)

1.0 Teacher in Lower Key Stage 2

1.0 Teacher in Upper Key Stage 2

These posts will commence on 1st September 2019. Applications are invited from excellent and talented practitioners to join our team.  

The role will include:

  • Taking responsibility for the learning and  achievement of your class.
  • Being passionate about children’s learning and wellbeing, and be reflective in your practice.
  • Forming excellent relationships with the pupils, parents, colleagues and governors.
  • Having sound knowledge and experience in effective planning and use of assessment and recording.
  • Having a clear vision for school improvement and an unfailing commitment to raising standards.
  • A willingness to participate fully in the life of the school. 

In addition, to the requirements detailed above, as a Main Scale Teacher you will be expected to carry out the professional duties of a school teacher as circumstances may reasonably require, as provided for under the relevant sections of the current School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document and the DfE Teachers’ Standards (attached). 

You are required to carry out your duties in line with the stated ethos and principles of the school and in line with your responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for whom you are responsible or come into contact with. 

The post requires you to:

  • Teach pupils within the age range 5-11 in accordance with the professional duties of a teacher (with a particular specialism in Foundation Stage 2 for our 0.5 part-time post).
  • Take an equitable share of the whole school curriculum care and management responsibilities.
  • Carry out your duties in line with the key tasks and management procedures of the school. 

In addition to the above you may be asked to undertake any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post.
