We are looking for dynamic Information Governance Advisors to play a key role in our Information Governance Team. The successful candidates will be information governance business partners, working closely with the Council’s departments, guiding and advising different service areas to apply good, compliant practice to the data and information they collect and use.

The role will involve supporting the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments, Information Sharing Agreements, the Information Asset Register as well as training and awareness raising.

We are looking for applicants with a positive “can-do” approach, who can navigate practical problems, challenge appropriately and give advice using their good working knowledge of Data Protection. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and to present information in a clear and uncomplicated way is important, as is the ability to communicate effectively.

This is a first-class opportunity to join a leading local authority, make a positive contribution to the way we do business and develop your career in information governance.

This post is also available as a secondment. You must seek approval from your line manager before applying.

For an informal chat about these roles, please contact Tina Sparreboom, Senior Information Governance Advisor on 0115 9773167.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
