The Living Well Bassetlaw Community Team is looking for an enthusiastic Advanced Social Work Practitioner.  You will need to demonstrate that you are a registered Social Worker with at least 2 years’ experience at Band B level. You will need to be a qualified Best Interest Assessor or Approved Mental Health Professional or Practice Educator.

You will be required to provide supervision and support to team members and also hold a small work load.  You will also be expected to undertake some management responsibilities within the team such as acting as duty manager and/or safeguarding manager, attending meetings and providing leadership in the development of the team’s policies and practice. In return we will provide you with regular support and supervision and access to relevant training and development opportunities including the development of services within the district and across the county. There is a commitment to ensuring that whilst challenging and exciting the overall workload will be manageable. 

The team covers a large in some parts rural area and provides an exciting opportunity to undertake a variety of practice experience within a supportive team. This includes assessment and commissioning including preventative and promoting independence for people.  There is a significant amount of safeguarding work as well as work related to the Mental Capacity Act, Social Circumstances reports and Hospital Discharges. 

Experience or knowledge of working with people with learning disabilities as well as Physical, Mental health and Aspergers and of the services and agencies involved in meeting their needs.  At least two years’ experience of working as a Band B level Social Worker with people with complex care needs demonstrating an ability to manage both work involving significant issues of risk and also work to promote the independence of people. An ability to use IT and flexible working practices in order to achieve high standards of practice in terms of record keeping, communication, managing departmental requirements and to manage your own caseload efficiently and effectively. 

Experience of working with other agencies to achieve better outcomes for people and improve performance and practice between partner agencies.  Experience or knowledge of skills needed when providing supervision, mentoring or leadership in order to promote high standards of practice within the team you work.  An ability to demonstrate learning and reflection using theory or research and how this has affected your practice.
