‘Shining the Light of Learning’

As a Church of England school we have strong and well-established links with our local church, Southwell Minster and the diocese. Our Rainbow Christian values of respect, happiness, friendship, honesty, cooperation, responsibility and underpin how we work as a school community.

At our last inspection in January 2019 inspectors judged the school to be good. They said that our pupils are very proud of their school and highlighted their good behaviour and attendance and their very positive attitudes to learning. The full inspection report is available on the Ofsted website.

We are currently in the process of reviewing our curriculum to ensure that it is progressive and sequential and to enable our pupils to make consistently good progress in all subjects. We are active members of the L.E.A.D Equate Teaching School Alliance and are keen to share what we do well and learn also from the good practice that exists in other schools.

What we can offer you is:

  • A happy and friendly environment where children work hard and are keen to do their best
  • A committed and hardworking staff
  • A school which is at the centre of the local community
  • The strong support of the governing body and the diocese
  • The opportunity to move our school onto its next stage of development.

The person we are looking for will have:

  • A strong track record of outstanding leadership
  • The ability to articulate a vision for change and to then turn that vision into reality
  • An unswerving commitment to ensuring that all children fulfil their potential and make excellent progress during their time at our school
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to further develop and strengthen the staff team
  • A commitment to and willingness to further develop our Christian ethos.

The Governors believe this to be an excellent opportunity for a senior leader aspiring to headship, or for an experienced head seeking a new challenge.
