We are seeking to recruit an Intelligence Support Officer to join our dynamic and successful Regional Investigation Team. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to become part of National Trading Standards in a role that provides vital support to both management and investigators who are tasked with tackling organised criminality on a regional and national scale.

We are ideally looking for an officer with some knowledge of law enforcement intelligence systems who is determined to learn about supporting criminal investigations by conducting research, gathering and analysing intelligence and evidence. The candidate should possess strong research and analytical skills whilst being able to demonstrate a practical understanding of data protection and managing confidential and sensitive information.

An excellent communicator and team player you’ll be able to build good working relationships with colleagues and external partners. You should have advanced IT skills with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to interpret data from a range of sources with large data sets.

You will also play an important support role to the Team Manager and should have excellent organisational skills to facilitate the efficient day to day running of the team. Experience of assisting with finance, invoicing and budget management systems is also desirable.

As attitude is as important as current skills, we would be pleased to informally discuss the details of this unique and rewarding opportunity.

Appointment to this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Disabled applicants who meet the essential shortlisting requirements will be guaranteed an interview. A job share scheme is available for all full-time posts: both permanent and temporary, unless otherwise stated. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment and undergo appropriate checks.
