This is an exciting opportunity for a person with excellent planning and communication skills to fulfil a managerial role within the County Council’s Emergency Planning Team. The post is a key role within a highly regarded and ambitious team of professionals.

Concerned primarily with planning and preparation for responding to the impact of major emergencies and disasters in Nottinghamshire, the work involves close liaison with a broad range of organisations including local authority departments, the Emergency Services, government departments, health services, voluntary organisations and industry. The post holder may also act as Lead Officer for the County Council on Safety of Sports Grounds matters.

You will need to have first class organisational skills plus management or leadership experience, excellent interpersonal skills, and proven experience of project management. The ability to deliver effective presentations and training events is also important.

As you would expect, the post demands an ability to work effectively under pressure and at times of crisis. Also, due to the nature of the task, you must be willing to be called (and respond if necessary) outside normal working hours, and have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
